Guy-Anne Massicotte is represented in galleries since 2002. She is a member of International Guild Of Realism and the "Group Of Twelve" (Canada), RAAV and CCE. Her work has been selected in many National and International shows such as Art Renewal Center’s International Salon and Barcelona's Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno it can be found in corporate as well as in several Canadian, American, European and Australian private collections.
Her approach to art is both traditional and contemporary with an emphasis on technique and fine craftsmanship. Putting into practice what she reads on painting techniques, along with attentive observation of masterpieces by Vermeer, Dürer, Rembrandt and Dalì and the work of contemporary artists brings her to develop a very personal painting style and technique to enhance impressions of reality.
Her purpose is to connect the viewer sensually to the subjects that inspire her among classical genres like still lifes, peoples, nature and animals. Her greatest challenge is how to integrate modern art and traditional painting with simplicity and sobriety.
"Art after all is but an extension of language to the expression of sensation too subtle for words" -Robert Henri
